MobileMe.com

Well, we all know by now that Apple’s revamped .mac service will be called MobileMe.com.

I, for one, am looking forward to it.

The big buzz this week is obviously about the iPhone 3G. But what seems to be getting overlooked (and what is arguably one of the most useful new features) is the launch of Apple’s new wireless sync-ing service.

And what makes this even better is that it appears that it will be available to all iPhone (new and old) and iPod Touch owners. For a fee - of course.

If you use your iPod Touch as PDA or your iPhone in the same manner, then you have experienced the frustration of having input a new appointment or contact on your Apple Mac laptops sometime after your last sync but before your next one. And then needing that information that is sitting at home on your hard drive when you are on the go.

Apple says that the new MobileMe.com will solve this problem. That alone makes this service the one that I will be reaching for on July 11th.

The 3G will just have to settle for second place.
