Rumor has it that a new Mac Book Pro model is slated to be released next week.
I know I am addicted to Apple products when news like this makes my pulse run faster and my palms a little sweaty – even though I am really not in the market to buy a new computer. 
In all seriousness, though – given the speed at which new products are released, it is a real bummer if you buy a new Mac, iPod, iPhone or iAnything – only to find out that a new upgrade is just around the corner.

They keep track of the dates of product launches – and the average time between launches. So, based on the past track record, they guesstimate whether now is a good time to buy – or if it is better to wait.
