New MacBook

So, tomorrow is the big day! Apple is scheduled to unveil the new MacBook - and rumor has it that it will be completely redesigned.

Several sites have leaked pictures of the casing of the new MacBooks but I, personally, am not spending my time analyzing whether the pics are authentic or not. After all, the real Apple laptops will be here tomorrow. That is when I will take a good look at what has changed and improved.

I hope that both the MacBook Pros and the less expensive MacBooks will both be sporting the classy aluminum casings as opposed to the plastic ones. Liken it to an awesome figure in a bad dress, really - the plastic casing just doesn’t give the powerful computer housed inside true justice.

Yeah - I’m a big Mac fan, can you tell?

Will I run out and buy an Apple notebook tomorrow? Probably not. Truly, if I could afford it, I would have several Macs spread throughout my house. An iMac desktop for every room, and a few Apple Mac laptops for on the go. But practicality steps in.

The kids are really coveting computers of their own. And the Apple Back to School event that ended recently was very tempting. As I wrote before, how can you pass up a free iPod Touch, especially if you were going to buy the computer anyway? But with speculations flying about the new Mac and the revamped iPod line, as well as the iPhone 3G - I was just not ready to take the plunge.

So tomorrow, I will be anxiously watching the announcement from Apple. And the best time to buy will truly be tomorrow. Computers after all, are just like new cars - the minute you walk out of the store, they become “old technology”. The longer you wait the closer you are to the next upgrade.
