Apple Mac Laptops

Will Apple Mac Laptops Get a New Look?

Rumor has it that Apple Mac laptops will be sporting a new do on September 9th, 2008.

The latest buzz is that the MacBook Pro will see a new case. According to the grapevine the current rectangular aluminum case will be replaced by an updated version. The anticipated new case will have more rounded edges. But the big news to techies is the possibility of easier hard drive access.

That is something I would greatly appreciate as the model I own is from the line of Apple Mac Laptops that were sporting a standard 120 gb hard drive. Even when I purchased it, a little voice was telling me that there would not be enough space. And sure enough – a few years later, my laptop is rendered immobile by the network of external hard drives that weigh it down. A larger hard drive would make my Apple computer much more functional.

But who wants to dig to get to it? Hopefully the new case will solve the issue!

Of course the Mac Book Pro isn’t the only member of the Apple Mac laptops lineup that is rumored to see a revision. The Mac Book may also be getting new duds – and designer ones at that. This notebook computer which is considered to be Apple’s budget line may be getting an upscale fix. The rumor is that the current plastic casing (which comes in black or white depending on the model) may be upgrading to aluminum. Very classy!

In addition, the iPod Touch may also get a spruce up.

Technology these days is like buying a new car. The market value goes down the minute you walk out of the store because you know that an update is on it’s way.

The big question of course, is should you take advantage of the current Apple promotion for education and get the free iPod Touch with the purchase of Apple Mac laptops or iMacs, or wait until the new models come out. And will the promotion still be running when the new models come out – that would be a real deal!

But since all of this is speculation and not fact – we won’t really know until Apple Inc. decides to show it’s hand.

Welcome to Technology Novice

Call this my Hello post. I have set this site up as an outlet to my computing energy. You see, women use computers differently than men – you will see that theme recurring here.

I am a big Apple fan. My computer is the central operations of my life. My mind. I could manage without it – but why do I want to?

Yet my friends don’t get it. Sure there is a geekiness to it all. But who has time for that side of it?

Women are busy. The computer just needs to work. We want to spend precious time working on the computer – not getting the computer to work. We want instant integration. We want useful software. We want things to run smoothly, our productivity to increase, and to be organized.

To that end, Apple has won me over. There is so much potential – but despite it’s ease of use, weeding through it all is time consuming. But still I do. I want answers, I want ease of use. As I come up with answers, I need to make the process easier for someone else. I need to share my knowledge. Notice I say knowledge not expertise. No it will never be expertise just enough knowledge to make computing work for me.

So, Technology Novice is quite appropriate – don’t you think? I will share what I know about my Mac, Apple Computers, iPod Touch, iPod and how they make life easier. Maybe it will help you, too.
